We believe all women deserve quality health care.

We realize that an unplanned pregnancy brings many stresses, including concerns about the cost of health care. At Allegheny Reproductive, we offer many options for payment and financial assistance so that patients never have to compromise their care.

Step 1: Schedule your appointment.
The phone counselor will help you understand the medical care you will require and the cost.

Step 2: If you have medical insurance, see if your health plan covers abortion services.
Many health plans provide coverage for abortion. Call your health plan and ask if you have coverage for an elective abortion. Some plans will cover the service or percentage of the fee, while others will only cover your abortion under certain circumstances. In the state of Pennsylvania, Medical Assistance will only cover abortions in cases of rape, incest or threat to the mother's life.

Step 3: If you are low income, you may qualify for financial assistance.
Let our staff know if you are low income. The National Abortion Federation provides financial assistance for women who meet the federal poverty guidelines and live in states where Medical Assistance does not cover all abortion services. In our region, financial assistance is available for women who reside in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia. Women who reside in West Virgina or Maryland are not eligible. If you are eligible for this assistance, our staff will fill out an application with you over the phone.

Step 4: If you are not eligible for financial assistance or unable to gather all the funds necessary for your abortion, apply for a payment plan.
Care Credit is an organization which provides payment plan options for our patients. Used like a credit card specifically for medical expenses, payments can be spread out over three months with no interest. You can apply for Care Credit here.

Step 5: If your appointment is approaching and you have not had any success with the steps above, please call our clinic.
